If you're wondering where the many adorable cats and dogs in animal shelters are being placed right now, you're not the only one. Like many cities, St. Louis was in serious need of help when it came to adoptions earlier this month, however, since then, the community has managed to place almost every cat and dog from the Animal Protective Association of Missouri (APA) into a welcoming home. This St. Louis animal shelter placing animals so quickly is exactly the kind of news we needed to hear!
With so many people currently working from home, the ability to adopt or foster a pet is more viable than ever. While it might not be the most convenient route to go down, it's certainly the most beneficial!
Not only do you get a furry friend, but that animal is able to live out its life in a loving, long-term environment.
Missourians are well aware of this reality, apparently, because in just two days the APA had zero pets up for adoption!
Now, there are only a few dogs and cats available for adoption and if things keep going the way they have been, it's only a matter of time before those numbers go all the way down yet again.
Remember, last time it only took two days.
In a Facebook post from Sunday, March 22 the APA announced that "EVERY SINGLE PET THAT CAN BE PLACED IN FOSTER HAS BEEN!!! You did this in just two days! And we are so extraordinarily grateful."
Accompanying their praise to the community were several photos of the almost never empty shelter.
"A few pets who can't leave the shelter due to medical needs remain and will be spoiled and cared for by the animal care staff throughout our public closure," said the APA.
Their recent Instagram post showed that the still adoptable pets were experiencing quite the spoiling. As they should.
Currently, there are three dogs up for adoption and six cats. Nothing a few Missourians can't handle!
