While we're all staying inside, our pets are seeing a lot more of us. If you don't have a pet, you might want to consider adopting or fostering one to help you pass the time while also giving a home to a furry friend in need. The St. Louis Aquarium hosted kittens from a local rescue shelter this week in order to give the kitties some fun while promoting their adoption.
The three kittens from Stray Rescue of St. Louis got to pounce and play around the grounds, exploring the bright blue exhibits.
They got to dig deep into their primal side and chase some fish, too! The fish didn't seem too afraid though, as they also swam towards the glass to get a look at the furry babies.
In an Instagram video, the St. Louis Aquarium wrote, "While the people are away, the kittens will play!" They then thanked Stray Rescue of St. Louis for "bringing by Axiom, Case and Verity to the St. Louis Aquarium for a day of frolicking!"
It also encouraged others to reach out to the shelter for adoption opportunities. "All kittens are available for adoption (including Mama Kitty) on their website now!"
Stray Rescue of St. Louis replied to the Instagram video saying "Thank you for partnering up with our kitties! They had the best day EVER."
The aquarium is temporarily closed, giving the cats all the time in the world to explore 125,000 square feet of aquatic fun.
There is no better time than now to bring a pet in need into your life. With social distancing giving all of us plenty of time at our houses, you could be housing a dog or a cat who needs a place to call home.
Of course, only consider this if you have the dedication to continue giving proper attention and care once social distancing ends!
You could also consider fostering, which only requires holding adoptable animals until shelters can adequately take care of them again.
Definitely give this adorable video of the kittens playing in the aquarium a watch again and see how fun cats can be!
