The Hawkins gang may have left town, but it doesn’t look like their lives will be getting any easier. With a new season confirmed, Joe Keery opened up about what Stranger Things season 4 could potentially bring to audiences’ screens. According to the actor, it’s not going to be easy to watch.

Talking to Total Film the 28-year-old said that although the previous seasons focus on the Mind Flayer and possession was intense, the coming episodes will be even scarier, “I think that this year - and I know I say this every single year - but this is definitely going to be a lot scarier than prior years.”

Last summer’s emotional cliffhanger had half of the characters leaving town and left fans wondering what exactly would happen next.

They weren’t alone. Even star Millie Bobby Brown was shocked the first time she read the script. In an interview with Elle, she confessed, “I was pissed! I read the script and I was like, ‘What, how is this even possible? Why are they moving away?’”

Although Keery’s promise and last season's ending might have subscribers terrified, they can be assured that he’s also calling the upcoming season “pretty amazing.”

Viewers got a peek of the amazing season when the first trailer was released by Netflix back in September. Hopper's tragic death in the final moments of season 3 was emotional, however, the sneak peek confirmed that he is very much alive.

Filming for the fourth season has been put on hold, with no news of a potential release date.
