Someone In Mississauga Will Lose $1M If They Don’t Check Their Lottery Ticket Soon
If you're in Mississauga and you've purchased a lottery ticket in the past year, check your jacket pockets.
According to the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Commission's website, there's an unclaimed Ontario lottery ticket sitting around worth $1,000,000.
The ticket was purchased in Mississauga on January 3, 2020, and it will expire on that same date in 2021.

According to the page, the $1,000,000 ticket was from a Lotto Max card and the winner likely used Quick Pick to select their numbers.
OLG's Unclaimed Tickets page lists dozens of lottery tickets with different values that haven't been accounted for.
These tickets expire if the prize has not been claimed after one year has passed since the draw date.
In a statement to Narcity, the OLG said that people often find their lost tickets around the time the seasons are changing, when they find the winter coats they haven't worn in a while and check the pockets.
A month before a ticket is about to expire, the OLG sends out a press release to the relevant community in the hopes that it will remind the right person to find the winning ticket.
But it's "rare" that any prize above $10,000 isn't claimed, according to the OLG.
If the money isn't claimed, it will be returned to lottery participants through future games and bonuses.
Let's just hope the winner doesn't find out on January 4, 2021.
