Oktoberfest celebrations are fast approaching and each promises its own spin on the event. The Addison Oktoberfest will be a three-day event that has so much German goodness, that you won't even feel the need to book a flight across the pond. The festivities will be from Sept. 19 to 22, with tons of food, games, and plenty of bier.

Tickets are required to enter the event on Friday and Saturday and are only $10 a person. Thursday and Sunday are free entry for anyone who would like to join in the fun, so why not pick those days? Guests will be able to participate in five different beer competitions that really test your balance, strength, and speed. Other competitions involve getting a taste of what it might be like to be a waitress in Munich during Oktoberfest, by seeing who can hold out a one-liter stein of beer the longest. If competitions aren't your thing, they have all the German foods you can imagine.
