Following a giant outage that left Canadians across the country without phone and data services this week, a Rogers credit has been offered to affected customers.

The company explained that the April 19 outage was caused by a recent Ericsson software update and promised that it was working to ensure this would not happen again.

Willie Nelson is calling on President Joe Biden to make "4/20" — a day many use to celebrate the consumption of marijuana — an official national holiday.

Nelson, in collaboration with his Luck Reunion team, launched a petition to help declare the nine days spanning April 20-29 the official "High Holidays," with the last day of celebration falling on the country music star's birthday.

On the night of Monday, April 19, a Langley fire forced about 100 people to evacuate from their homes and totally destroyed the condo buildings and townhouse complexes in its path.

CTV News reported that a massive explosion was heard before residents in the area were evacuated. The fire took place near 80th Avenue and 208th Street.

As the country continues to deal with the third wave of COVID-19, Canada's international travel restrictions have been extended once again. 

In an announcement on April 20, Minister of Public Safety Bill Blair confirmed that restrictions on non-U.S. international travel would remain in place until at least May 21, 2021.
