Peter Kraus broke all of our hearts yesterday when he posted this sweet, sweet Instagram in response to Arie being announced as The Bachelor.

As a Bachelor fan and Peter-lover, I got a little misty eyed at the sincere and sweet message. The post itself accumulated over 126,000 likes and close to 9,000 comments, as Bachelor Nation shared their sympathies with the personal trainer. Millions of fans were saddened by ABC's decision to cast in a different direction - by choosing Arie Jr. From Emily Maynard's season - and aren't afraid to let producers know.
In contrast, Arie's announcement Instagram racked up a mere 15,000 likes and a 1,000 comments, suggesting that Peter has a much bigger fan base and following. Fans have even gone as far to say they 'won't watch' Arie, in solidarity for Peter. Viewers might not be watching anyways considering all of the dirt that's surfaced on the once 'squeaky-clean' race-car driver - click here for deets.
A Bachelor nation divided against itself cannot stand!!
Producers have seem to caught wind of Bachelor Nation's sadness and seem to be willing to mend our hearts. Maybe with Peter's heartfelt post yesterday, execs are reconsidering their choice to make Arie the only Bachelor..
Bachelor Nation was shocked when Britt Nilsson and Kaitlyn Bristowe competed against each other for the role of The Bachelorette. The franchise had used the move once before in 2004 for The Bachelor, though today's viewers probably aren't aware. In both seasons, Bachelor and Bachelorette contestants had to vote on which woman or man they wanted to pursue - with Bachelor Nation also weighing in with their opinions.
Executive Mike Fleiss left us with this hint at what's to come:
We aren't done with the shocking announcements... #TheBachelor
Here's hoping they changed their minds and are bringing Peter in for a dramatic ~double~ season. Fingers crossed!
