I’ve seen people who I never thought would have gotten a pet because it might compromise their lifestyle and they’re now just flooding social media with the love this pet is giving them.

As reported by Retail Insider, pet stores and pet retail goods are booming right now as more Canadians are in need of company at home amid the global pandemic.
Additionally, new pet owners — and even old ones — are decking out their pets in the process as they spend more time with their furry friends and get in touch with their grooming needs, play toys and overall care.
Scott Arsenault, the president of Ren’s Pets, a Canadian pet company, has reportedly seen sales go up while other industries have faced economic hardships.
Arsenault attributes his company's success to the new trend because, according to him, not only has pet ownership spiked, but people also have more time to focus on their fur babies as "the interactions have been heavier or more concentrated or more involved."
"It’s been intentional because people are home. So they’re walking. They’re training more. Treats more. For current pet ownership, they seem to be really invested in their pets," he said.
"Growth within the industry has been outstanding. The year for pets has been fantastic."
