CP Holiday Train
This train is outfitted with gorgeous LED lights, travelling to cities all over Canada and the US to bring awareness to food banks/hunger-related issues. There are performers/entertainers present as well! Just remember to bring healthy, nutritious food items to donate (it's not required, but is the right thing to do).
When: December 8 ( 7:45 PM - 8:45 PM)
Where: South of Edmonton CP Station
Price: Free (donations to local food bank appreciated)
124 St & Whyte Ave.
Both these streets consist of twinkling lights on the trees (and some buildings) lining the walkways. So you can take a stroll in the evening accompanied by a cheerful holiday-inspired glow.
Alberta Legislature Grounds
With daily musical performances throughout most of December (as part of their Celebrate the Season event), the Legislature grounds are one of the most festive places in the city this time of year.
Official light-up: Dec 1 at 4PM (the lights will remain for the rest of the season)

Sir Winston Churchill Square
This is yet another gorgeous place to view Christmas lights. It's a lovely destination for an evening stroll or perhaps a skate (when the rink is open).
Zoominescence-A Festival of Light
Head down to the Zoo to check out the wonderful Festival of Light. It will be the "bright" spot to your day.
When: Dec 9 - 18 from 5PM - 9PM
Price: $7.50/adult and $5.00/child

Luminaria
Head down to the Devonian Botanic Garden this year, and experience the peaceful glow of light emanating from the candles placed along the paths of their Kurimoto Japanese Garden.
When: Dec 2 - 4 from 5PM - 10PM

Candy Cane Lane
With so many beautiful decorations and lights, its easy to see why Candy Cane Lane is a popular destination for Edmontonians. It's joyfully festive!

West Edmonton Mall
There are lights and decorations of all sorts throughout the mall. So you can put your multitasking skills to the test, and shop while also enjoying the splendor of the holiday lights.
*If you wanted to see some of these holiday lights from the comfort of a vehicle, Edmonton Transit will be offering ETS Christmas Tours. So, for $5.00/person (proceeds go to Donate-a-Ride program), you can receive a tour of the lights on an ETS bus. Check here for more details.
