We've all hosted or been to a movie night at least once in our lives, it's the perfect way to spend an evening with your boo or your friends, after all. Unfortunately, not all of us had the luxury of experiencing a movie night outdoors, on a blanket, snuggled up with your favorite people to stay warm. Houston's movie nights on Discovery Green is giving every Houstonian the opportunity to do just that, starting this month. 

Bank of America's Screen on the Green starts Thursday, December 19 with a screening of a Christmas classic, A Christmas Story.

If you're from Houston, visiting Discovery Green is a must this winter, and we're not just saying that because of the gorgeous ice skating rink that's there. The urban park is home to numerous art installations right now, one of which involves hundreds of illuminated origami birds. Paloma at Discovery Green in Houston was officially unveiled this past weekend, and it's even better than we had imagined. 

Paloma is a site-specific public art installation sponsored by PNC Bank. The installation was created by the French creative studio, Pitaya.

Houston is hosting a variety of events during the holiday season, some more chilling than others. Halloween is long over, so we don't mean "chilling" in the spooky sense, we're talking about something much less scary than a haunted house. Houston's ice sculpture festival at Discovery Green is taking place later this month, and it's going to be a chilling good time!

On Friday, November 22 Discovery Green is kicking off their holiday season with Frostival! From 6 to 10 p.m., Houston's most iconic park will have ice carving demonstrations, ice sculpture photo ops, ice skating and much more.

If you've been thinking of a halloween costume, but no where to go yet, we've got you. Scream on the Green has become a Halloween tradition for Houston, and if you haven't heard of it yet then you're in for a surprise. It's totally free!

Discovery Green in downtown Houston is hosting their annual Scream on the Green on October 25th from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m., and one of the main attractions for this event is a citywide costume contest. Did you know that you and your dog can both enter?
