As husband to the Vice President, Emhoff has officially become the first "Second Gentleman" in the history of the United States, and his title is now officially recognized in Merriam-Webster's Dictionary.
The term Second Gentleman (noun) is defined as "the husband or male partner of a vice president or second in command of a country or jurisdiction."
Emhoff is honored to serve as the country's first Second Gentlemen and says he will build on the legacies of the Second Women that preceded him.
