An Ontario Region Is Desperate To Stop A Big Outbreak From 'Spiralling Out Of Control'
Officials from Ontario's Grey Bruce Health Unit are urging all residents to consider themselves contagious for the next 48 hours after a large COVID-19 outbreak.
Over 70 cases have been confirmed in the past 36 hours in the region, prompting concern that the pandemic could "spiral out of control" if "drastic measures" aren't immediately taken.

"The sources of transmission are identified as individuals not following lockdown with people visiting others when symptomatic as well as social gatherings and ‘bush parties’ by high school aged youth," the region said in a Facebook post on Wednesday, April 14.
"The issue is worsened by individuals being untruthful to public health contact tracing and case management inquiries," they added.
While the region continues to follow up with known close contacts, officials are urging residents to stay home. A large vaccine clinic planned for this Saturday has also been closed, and more may close as well to prevent any gatherings at all and to allow health care workers to be deployed elsewhere.
Other Notable Outbreaks in Ontario
Grey Bruce isn't the only region dealing with an extensive outbreak in the province.
London is calling on the province to designate one of its neighbourhoods as a "hot spot area" because they have the highest test positivity rate in the entire province.
And Vaughan recently warned residents that over a hundred people may have been exposed after several staff cases at a restaurant in the region.
Workplaces are continually dealing with COVID-19 cases, too, and a Canada Post worker in Toronto recently passed away after an outbreak was declared at the processing plant where he worked.
