Willie Nelson is calling on President Joe Biden to make "4/20" — a day many use to celebrate the consumption of marijuana — an official national holiday.
Nelson, in collaboration with his Luck Reunion team, launched a petition to help declare the nine days spanning April 20-29 the official "High Holidays," with the last day of celebration falling on the country music star's birthday.

"We believe that recognition of the 'High Holidays' opens the door to much-needed dialogue supporting the many benefits of cannabis while helping to remove the unjustified stigmas currently surrounding this amazing plant," the team wrote to President Biden.
The petition, which asks supporters to "please puff, puff, and pass this to your friends in Congress for consideration," has a goal of getting 2,500 signatures and it has already received nearly 2,400 as of Tuesday, April 20 at 4 p.m. EST.
Nelson's Luck Reunion Team will be celebrating "High Holidays" this year by hosting what they are calling "Luck Summit: Planting the Seed" from April 26-29, where they will be discussing marijuana's history, science, entertainment, and culture.
