The Kingston, Frontenac, and Lennox & Addington (KFL&A) region has become an Ontario "Green Zone" region as of Wednesday, February 10, but public health officials are not asking visitors to stay away.

Instead, the region's Medical Officer of Health said in a statement that they want residents to "show kindness" to the visitors who need to access services in their community.

Residents of one Ontario region are now being asked to get a COVID-19 test if they have travelled outside the region.

KFL&A Public Health, located in Kingston, warned travellers on Monday of a new variant of the virus, which is "easily transmissible."

Kingston, Frontenac and Lennox & Addington Public Health (KFL&A) is asking anyone with symptoms to get tested after positive cases were linked to Ontario university parties.

According to the public-health unit, at least two COVID-19 cases were connected to house parties in Kingston's university district last week.
