Americans celebrated Mardi Gras at famous parades across the country, including that of New Orleans, LA. From beads to floats and king cake, there was no shortage of people letting the good times roll this week.

However, a TikToker in Alabama published a video on February 20 of Mobile's celebrations and mentioned that people should really be talking about "the original Mardi Gras," not the one in NOLA.

The Marche du Nain Rouge is a tradition in this city that reminds you why this city is such a special place. Although this parade is similar to Mardi Gras in that we also love a good party, the celebration is distinctly Detroit. Residents of the city are the main attraction so make sure to come dressed to impress (or terrify). 

Everyone meets at noon on March 22 in full costume to march seven blocks down 2nd Ave. towards the Masonic Temple. Once the procession reaches the end of the road, it's time for the serious parties to begin.

These past few months have been fun-filled, as there's been many holidays worth celebrating and even more events held because of them. This February, Houston has a very special event taking place that isn't something the city typically gets to enjoy. A Mardi Gras parade in Houston will be taking place this February, and it's going to be so big even New Orleans will be left a little shook. 

Mardi Gras Houston 2020 will be held on Saturday, February 22 from 1 p.m. and end early the following morning at 2 a.m.
