The highly anticipated Oprah interview with Meghan Markle and Prince Harry aired in the U.S. on Sunday, and plenty of royal family drama was brought to the spotlight for the first time.
The Duchess of Sussex revealed she received much scrutiny from the royal family and the British press, which she said had a major impact on her mental health.

One of Markle's friends, tennis star Serena Williams, rushed to her defense following the interview, saying, "We must recognize our obligation to decry malicious, unfounded gossip and tabloid journalism."
In the caption, Williams calls the couple "brave" for opening up about what they had undergone after getting married in 2018.
"I know it is never easy. You are strong- both you and Harry. I love you. I adore you. Your friend S," she said.
The duchess has not publicly replied to the tennis star's comments.
Williams is not the only tennis star to defend Markle, as Billie Jean King tweeted her appreciation of the couple's honesty.
