They are searching for both an English content producer and a French one. They're offering a one-year remote contract with the chance to renew.
According to the job posting, with misinformation running rampant online, the content producer would work to make content that is relevant and useful to Canadians.
What is the job?
If you snag this job, you can be expected to work with a very close team. You will also be tasked with creating content that will go up on the company's social media channels, like their @ScienceUpFirst Instagram account.
The gist of the role is to find creative and visual ways for storytelling, but make it science! They also want you to combat misinformation by setting the record straight on things that matter.
"As an expert in your language, you will have a strong understanding of cultural references and unique opportunities to use storytelling through video, graphics, and clever copywriting to convey messages that are entertaining, shareable, persuasive, and accurately represent the best available scientific evidence," the job posting added.
What are the requirements?
For this job, you do not need a science degree, however, the company does ask that you have a Bachelor's degree or diploma in marketing, public relations, graphic design, communications or anything that shows you can tell a story creatively.
You'll have to speak either French or English, or both, to get the job.
Do you have a knack for all things social media? Because you'll need to be well versed in content creating for Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok.
You will also need to have some basic video editing skills, like creating captions and "text animations."
How much does it pay and how do I apply?
As a content producer, you can expect to rake in $50,000 to $60,000 a year.
You may want to get a move on that application because the interview process starts the week of March 22, 2021. Luckily, they will keep looking until they find the right person for the job.
You will need to start by emailing a resume, cover letter and links to three examples of content you've produced, which could include social media posts and videos.
You can email your application to info@casc-accs.com with "Content Producer (English) or Content Producer (French), Science Up First" as your subject line.
