Ontario enters step two of its reopening ahead of schedule today, but some regions are already calling for fewer restrictions.
"Kids sports have been shut down for a long time and there is a safe way to allow kids sports again," Brown said. "I think it's important for children's mental health. I think it's important for their physical health."
The mayor also petitioned for indoor swimming pools to be reopened during step two, arguing the activity is low risk for COVID-19 transmission.
"I look at the data according to the World Health Organization, the COVID-19 virus does not transmit through the water while swimming," he added.

"How do you have a kid's soccer game when they have to be nine feet apart? It means you'll be blowing the whistle literally every 10 seconds," Brown stated.
