Miami’s sprawling cityscapes and bustling streets are an exciting place to explore. With a never-ending agenda of things to do, you’ll be up all night chasing the excitement. But for when you need to slow down and breath some fresh air, there’s the Miami wildlife sanctuary Pinto’s Farm, where you paddle around a hidden island of the cutest animals.
Pinto’s Farm gives you a break from the hustle and bustle of city life. Aside from cuddling and feeding the cutest farm animals around, you can even paddle around the refreshing riverway that surrounds the hidden island oasis.
About the farm
Like any good thing, Pinto’s Farm is family owned and operated, currently being run by the family’s second generation.
Founded by Manuel and Angel Pinto in May 2011, it was the family’s dream to break into the hospitality business fueled by their love of animals and nature.
They wanted to create a place where the whole family could have fun and reconnect with nature.
Today, the farm is the perfect place to celebrate a special day, and they even have plans to expand in the coming years with their very own microbrewery.
What kind of animals can you see there?
At the petting zoo, you’ll find friendly pigs and goats just waiting for a handful of grain to snack on. You’ll also see rabbits, chickens, and ponies.
There’s also the Reeve’s Muntjac Deer native to South Asia, that actually bark like dogs.
What is the paddle tour really like?
The farm feels like a hidden oasis among the noise and crowds of Miami, especially because it is literally on a tiny island surrounded by water.
Once you’ve done your rounds and greeted all the animals, you take to the water for a totally different view of the farm.
Cruise your way around the lake via paddle boat and sail beneath dense canopies of trees.
The paddle boats are included in the admission price, and for everyone’s safety, all paddlers will need to wear life jackets.
