Toronto Pan Am 2015 has been going strong for the past two weeks, but like all good things, it must come to an end. However, just like the phenomenal opening there is still a lot in store for the closing ceremonies, besides just the highly-publicized billing of Kanye West, which all the while should be incredible to see, even if he isn't a homegrown artist.
The closing festivities are this Sunday, July 26, and feature countless different events and activities, that are sure to be a great time. Things kick-off at 2:00 pm at Nathan Phillips Square with the ongoing PANAMANIA Live concert series featuring artists Sergio Mendes (you may recognize this tune from the original Austin Powers), Calypso Rose with Kobo Town, and Ontario Steel Pan. Did we mention that it's FREE.
Finally, the night will end with the ceremonial extinguishing of the flame at the Pan Am Cauldron, which is located in front of the CN Tower. This will be followed by dual fireworks displays at both the Nathan Phillips Square and the CN Tower which are sure to be utterly spectacular. We just hope the CN Tower rehearsal will go better than last time. It promises to be a memorable night and will look something like this:
