Life is full of mysteries, both solved and unsolved, and our curiosity as Canadians means many of us are captivated by the unknown. From cold cases to good ol’ treasure hunts, there's nothing like an intriguing secret to uncover.
One of Canada’s most enduring and unsearchable mysteries is the one about the Caramilk bar — some of you may know which one I’m talking about! Since Cadbury launched its famous bar in 1968, the mystery behind how they actually get the caramel inside the Caramilk has remained unsolved. Over the years, Cadbury has challenged Canadians to discover the secret in many amusing ways, making it one of our country's most beloved and enduring mysteries.
If you’ve heard of this famous enigma before, chances are, you’ve always wanted to get to the bottom of it. On the other hand, if you just found the long-standing mystery of Cadbury’s Caramilk, you’re probably pretty intrigued by now.
Adding to the excitement, Cadbury has launched its “Unlock the Secret” contest where you could win a grand prize of $100,000. Even better, this year (for the first time ever) the contest will be completely virtual. Cadbury is now giving everyone, all across Canada, an equal chance to become a finalist and win the grand prize. Whether you’re at your local convenience store, gas station, or grocery store, be sure to search for a specially marked Caramilk bar.
The coveted contest bars will have a unique 12-digit PIN code (golden key) inside the wrapper, which you then enter on the Caramilk website. The best part is you don’t even have to wait to find out the results. Once you submit your PIN, you'll know instantly if you're one of the 10 lucky finalists. From those 10, one grand prize winner will be announced in November 2020. The contest ends on October 13, 2020, so get solving!

One of the 10 finalists has already been revealed (aka your possible competition). Jean-François Bisson-Deneault, a 38-year-old husband and father from Drummondville, Quebec, has discovered a key.
After casually purchasing a Caramilk bar at a local convenience store, as he regularly does, Mr. Bisson-Deneault was very surprised to learn that he was one of the instant finalists. “It hit me like a ton of bricks! On that day, I felt like EVERYTHING was going my way,” said Jean-François. If he does win the $100,000 (which he just might), he plans to buy a house with his wife to fulfil their dream of growing their family.

You could be the next Jean-François. So, add that to your list of reasons to search for some delicious Caramilk bars! But before you can keep the Caramilk Secret, you need to know the answer to the question on everyone’s mind: How do they get the caramel in the Caramilk bar?
