Via Twitter, the NDP leader wrote, “Day 1 of his presidency: Joe Biden puts a pause on student loan payments with an interest rate of 0%.”
He went on, “The second wave of the pandemic: Justin Trudeau breaks his promise to students and refuses to do the same.”
Singh’s comments come as the new president made several big moves within his first few hours in the White House.
This included cancelling the Keystone XL pipeline, rejoining the Paris Climate Agreement and extending a pause on student loan repayments.
He even had time to redecorate the Oval Office on Wednesday!
