The COVID-19 pandemic hasn’t been stopping some travellers from attempting to cross the Canada-US border.

Travel restrictions between the two countries have been in place since March, a move intended to help slow the spread of COVID-19.

It's stage 2 deja vu! Ontario's COVID-19 announcement meant stricter restrictions for three hotspots in the province, but there was a warning for all Ontarions in there too. 

While Peel Region, Toronto and Ottawa are the only areas where gyms, indoor dining, theatres and more have to close down, effective October 10, the chief medical officer for the province had some big words of warning for everyone else.

One of the ongoing measures in the current pandemic is the Canada-U.S. border closure. This has been in place for months, and limits crossings to essential trips. However, that hasn't stopped some Americans from trying to go sightseeing and shopping up north.

The latest numbers from the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) show that there have still been people attempting to enter the country from the United States for non-essential purposes over the last month.
