Life is an adventure so don't waste it in front of the TV. Living in Vancouver is a privilege, and forsaking all that BC has to offer seems like a waste if you ask me. So, for those who want to take a chance on the wild side, here is a list of titillating ways to excite your dating life:
1. Skydiving // Skydive Vancouver, Whistler Skydiving
There are multiple skydiving outlets in and around Vancouver. Your first jump will be tandem so nothing to fear as you jump out of flying plane. Falling to your perfect landing will be something not soon forgotten as you take in what is one of the most incredible views imaginable of the mountains and/or ocean. Not to mention, a sensation craved by all real adrenaline junkies, soaring through the air, free as a bird.
2. Cliff Jumping // Lions Bay, Lynn Canyon, Indian Head, Lighthouse Park
Nothing beats plummeting tens of feet through the air into the water and BC is renowned for some epic spots to do just that. You have the choice of jumping from majestic waterfalls into deep swimming holes or tossing yourself from seaside cliffs. Either way, when you pop your head out of the water after the jump, the feeling of satisfaction is never finer.
3. Bungee Jumping and Zip-Lining // Whistler, Grouse
There are a few cool places to bungee. The most popular destination is Whistler Bungee, but somewhat closer Grouse offers a zip-line experience. There are all sorts of packages to ensure you get to do whatever your hearts' desire. Whistler is crazy awesome though, and the bungee location is tremendous, watching the flowing river below come screaming towards you before being saved by elastic at the last second.
4. Scuba Diving // Ocean Quest, Vancouver Diving Locker
If you're already certified, Vancouver has a few scuba hubs that'll take you to impressive dive sites for an underwater escape. Diving is one of my absolute favorite things, leaving behind the trouble of the above-water world, finding yourself within a completely different universe. For those who want to get started, but need training, Vancouver has that as well, but classes will likely take place in a pool until you master the basic techniques.

5. Surfing and Skim-Boarding // Pacific Surf School, Wreck Beach
Tofino is a surfer's paradise. The landscape is incredible, the vibes are chill, and waves are regular. But if that's too far a trip to take when you live in the city, skim-boarding Wreck is pretty popular and a great way to spend the day at the beach with your favorite someone.
6. Mountain Biking // North Shore, Whistler
A constantly growing enterprise, mountain biking is a great workout and a lot of fun. Casually bike some back mountain roads in North Van or head into the woods for some more extreme cycling as you shred up and down mountain trails. Whistler also has a sick setup with trails ranging from easy to expert.
7. Paragliding and Hang-Gliding // Grouse, Vancouver Island
If skydiving isn't enough, there are bountiful other ways to get up into the air around Van City and on Vancouver Island. For a little more air time and scenic views, this is definitely the way to do it. You and your heartbeat will be soaring!
8. Kiteboarding, Windsurfing and Sailing // Windsure, Strong
Get lessons or maybe you're already a seasoned wind specialist. Regardless, the bays around Vancouver and Squamish, and lakes throughout the province, including Nitinat Lake on Vancouver Island, all offer a picturesque setting with strong winds to sail in any fashion.
9. Rock Climbing // Squamish Rock Guides, The Hive Bouldering Gym
BC is the perfect place to chalk up those fingertips. Squamish is one of the most popular rock climbing destinations in the world and some of the best climbers in the world hail from the cliffside town nestled between Vancouver and Whistler. There are also some good walls closer to the city, inside and out.

10. Whitewater Rafting and Kayaking // Hyak River Rafting, Lotus Land
The rivers around BC are anything but lazy so for an action packed day of snaking through the wilderness on a wet, winding road, look no further. Paddle your way through some amazing watery terrain. If you own your own kayak or canoe, there are also lots of more peaceful rivers/coves, but maybe you'll see a bear or a whale, and that's sure to release some adrenaline.
11. Skating // Hastings Skatepark, Downtown Skate Plaza, Bonsor, Leeside
If you and your partner skateboard, longboard, rollerblade, or scooter, Vancouver has tons of chill places and features, as well as some superb skateparks. A skate date is never a bad idea, even if it means scraping an elbow.
12. Horseback Riding // Leghorn Ranch, Back in the Saddle
Not everyone's forte, but I hear BC has plenty of ranches where you can trot out on expeditions into deep pine forests to find your inner pioneer. Romance and horses seems to go well together, just saying.
13. ATVing and Snowmobiling // X-Motor Rentals, Canadian Wildness Adventures
Ripping around on a machine might be your style and if so, there are lot of rambunctious, dirt and snow filled paths to really give it some throttle. ATV in the summer and snowmobile in the winter, BC really never stops being awesome.
14. Heli-Skiing // Whistler, Eagle Pass
Well, it might not be a summer activity, but save up some dough and mark it on your to-do list, because this is one thing you really don't want to miss out on. Flying up to jaw-dropping, untouched, snowy peaks for the most heavenly intense descent will be one of the most memorable ski experiences of your lifetime. You and your date will undoubtedly fall head over heals (hopefully not literally).
