If you can speak both French and English, this one could be for you! The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) is hiring Bilingual Trainees across Canada right now and there are big bucks on offer.
According to the Government of Canada job listing, the selection process for a number of roles within the CBSA has recently opened.
There are opportunities available across Canada and the salary ranges from $64,234 to $71,525 per year, which is pretty impressive!
While the specific roles on offer vary, the CBSA promises you’ll “work to keep Canadians safe by enforcing laws and regulations [and] facilitating legitimate trade and travel.”
The agency is looking for applicants who can cope with difficult situations, who have strong values and ethics and who can demonstrate reasoning skills, analytical thinking and competent decision making.
Who can apply?
To apply, candidates must be proficient in both English and French to perform the duties of the job.
“Applicants who do not meet the requirements of a bilingual position will not be considered further in the process,” explains the listing.
Additionally, contenders will need a secondary school diploma and a valid, unrestricted driver's license.
Before you become a Bilingual Border Services Officer, the government agency will provide “intensive in-person training.”
This will include training at the CBSA College in Quebec, where trainees will be provided with accommodation, plus meals and an allowance of $125 per week to cover expenses.
Per the job posting, employees will also receive dental benefits after three months on the job and health and pension benefits after six months on the job.
