St. Pete’s massive annual local festival is back for the 7th year in a row this February, and it’s set to be bigger and better than ever. Localtopia showcases over 250 independent businesses and community organizations, and even has several titles adding to its grandeur. Voted “Best Festival” by the Tampa Bay Times, declared “Event of the Year” and many more, you won’t want to miss this Florida festival.
This year, Localtopia will have even more goodies, craft stalls, and food trucks, as they’re expanding down another city block on St. Pete's 3rd Street. Not only will this will allow for even more vendors, but also a second stage for live music.
The stalls are divided up into separate “villages,” making browsing that much easier.
Along with the arts and family villages, there will also be a new “all things plants” village as well as an expansion of the health and wellness region.
On N. 2nd Avenue, you’ll find local breweries pouring their special brews and a boozy beer truck. On N. 3rd Street, there will be boutiques, a new literary corner, skate vendors, and a DJ spinning tunes.
And of course, you can refuel with all the fabulous food truck goodness on N. 4th Street.
When you get there, don’t forget to check out the Welcome Center and Bubble Room, where you can get more festival merch and Prosecco, Hard Seltzers, and Cider.
"The biggest local raffles", photo booths, live craft demos, and more surprises are said to be in-store, according to event executive director and founder Olga Bof.
Localtopia also does it’s best to be sustainable and eco-friendly during its events by bulk buying compostable items for their vendors to use. As of their 2018 festival, they eliminated single-use plastics and Styrofoam.
Localtopia is set for Saturday, February 22, but in the case of super bad weather, they’ll reschedule for the following Saturday, the 29th.
Wear your comfiest pants and get ready to chow down, dance to thumpin' tunes, and maybe even find a new plant for home too at Localtopia!
