If you’ve been itching to get out of the house for a change of scenery, the official full Phase 1 of Florida’s reopening may come as exciting news. New businesses are now able to reopen, some already open businesses can increase capacity, and the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Tampa are joining the ranks this week as they open their doors this Thursday. With new and strict guidelines in place to keep you safe, they are ready to welcome you back.
Both guests and employees will be required to undergo temperature checks before entering the building, and wearing a mask will be mandatory.
Don’t sweat it if you forget the mask at home, though, as the casino will provide masks to those who need one.
Social distancing is a biggie, with thousands of slot machines turned off to encourage distance on the floor. There will even be plexiglass barriers installed at table games to create separation between the players.
In case you get too engrossed in your game and forget about keeping your space, the approximately 850 signs posted throughout the complex will be there to help remind you.
They could potentially make for a fun game of Find the Signs with your friends — maybe the person who finds the most wins, and the one with the least has to buy the crew a round of brews.
Hand-sanitizing stations will be available throughout the resort, as well as constant purification and disinfecting of the air with a new filtration system. Over 100 staff members will form a Clean Team dedicated to sanitizing high-touch areas.
For the time being, the resort will also operate at 50% capacity.
You’ll still be able to grab a bite at the on-site cafes and restaurants, but only 200 of the 800 guestrooms will be available.
These restrictions come from the Safe and Sound program guidelines that the resort is implementing to keep its guests and staff safe as everyone gets their gamble on.
Be safe, and have fun!
