This Crystal Clear River In Florida Is One Of The Best Spots For Kayaking

Pristine shades of turquoise , the sun shining overhead, and a soft breeze making your hair lightly dance across your forehead - sounds like a perfect day out on the water in Sunshiney Florida. If you need a place to let go of your daily stress, Weeki Wachee River is the most gorgeous place to strap into your kayak and flow downstream - don't forget the sunscreen.

Weeki Wachee in Spring Hill Florida is well known for being the City of Mermaids but is also the most serene place to get on or in the water yourself. With 7.4 miles of river that is the most gorgeous hue of blue for your kayak to leisurely float down, you'll definitely want to plan your next day off to go. The water is so clear that you can see the bottom, and you need to see it to appreciate just how beautiful it really is.

If you've ever needed a place to unwind and appreciate nature, Weeki Wachee is definitely your place. You can document your adventure as you go down the river as well as in the springs with some of the most gorgeous water shots imaginable for your Instagram feed. Check out some of the unbelievable captures you can get below:

As you paddle downstream , the river is lined with gorgeous Oak, Cyprus, and Palm trees, casting a shade softly over you. The banks of the river are thick with plant life and house some cute Florida wildlife. You're bound to see some animals along your journey hiding in the brush, but manatees are also known to frequent the rivers and springs.

Some visitors have even had a raccoon get up close and personal or been gently nudged by some meandering manatees - check out a couple of videos below:

If you already have your own canoe, kayak or paddleboard, you can access the river through Weeki Wachee State Park off their boat launch for only $6, plus tax. If you don't have any equipment, they do offer rental equipment. A kayak or paddleboard for just you will run you $40 - or if you want to be close with a friend or your boo, they have tandem kayaks for $50. All equipment rentals include a return shuttle ride too.

If you rent equipment , you have 4 hours to admire your trek down this gorgeous waterway - make sure to take plenty of pictures to keep forever when you need a little piece of calm and to share with your Instagram followers. If you take longer, that's okay too; however, a late fee of $50/equipment and per hour late would be added.

Take me to the river and toss me in the water! Weeki Wachee State Park is located at 6131 Commercial Way, Spring Hill, FL 34606 and is open from 9 am to 5:30 pm every day of the week. According to their website, they are currently conducting renovations on their show facility - so we always recommend calling ahead if you have any concerns.

If you're not ready to get in the water but want to see how beautiful this place is, the video below will flow you through peacefully and make you feel as though you're right on the water yourself - and the calm water sounds are some serious ASMR.
