As hair shops and nail salons remain closed during Governor Ron DeSantis' phase 1 plan to reopen the state, you've probably asked yourself, "when can I get a haircut?" In Tampa, one salon has found a quick remedy for those wanting a touch-up during the safer-at-home quarantine. If your roots are looking a bit rough, J. Joseph Salon is offering touch-up kits and self-help guides for Floridians.
The salon shut its doors back on March 22, one week before the governor's "safer-at-home" order, and has been closed for the past six weeks. Unable to maintain their standard business model, J. Joseph Salon has switched gears to help their clients do their hair but with the guidance of professionals.
These touch-up kits are $30 and are mixed specifically for that individual, and are made to cover your hairline and roots. Clients are advised to message the salon with their current root situation, to which a stylist will concoct the uniquely personal mixture. Customers can then drive by and do a curbside pick up.
Each order will come with an applicator brush and detailed application instructions to ensure clients have the necessary information to do their hair at home.
Apparently, blondes don't have more fun. At least for the time being since the salon is only "rolling out" kits for brunettes and for gray coverage.
They have two locations, one in Lutz County and the other in Citrus County, where existing clients can venture. Though they have designated specific days for orders to be ready, so you will need to check their website for any updates.
The salon has even tapped into the educational scene by posting DIY hair tutorials for those who are still wanting a new hairdo but don't want to mess it up. So there's no excuse for lopsided haircuts or bangs once everything is said and done.
Since the state has not yet announced when hair and nail salons will be reopening, the shop will continue to provide this curbside service with new dates in the works.
