March 19 is a big day for some very good pups who have been training to join an array of Florida police forces - and there is nothing they want more than to share their big day with you. Luckily, you are totally invited to the Tampa area police-dogs-in-training graduation ceremony next month.

According to the official Facebook event post, the graduation will be hosted by both the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office and Tarpon Springs Police Department and will take place on March 19 at Countryside High School, 3000 State Road 580, Clearwater, between 6-7 p.m. that evening.

While they don't promise diplomas or tasseled caps, they do promise an entertaining graduation ceremony like you have never seen before with K9 cruisers, agility demonstrations, bite demonstrations, and a few surprises they have not yet mentioned!

During the celebration, five new K9s units will be welcomed at four local law enforcement agencies. The following pooches will be graduating from the Basic Patrol K9 Operations School:

  • Cpl. Aitken & K9 Taco
  • Dep. Lorusso & K9 Logan
  • Dep. Baroff & K9 Smitty (Pasco SO)
  • Ofc. Nguyen & K9 Charlie K (Tarpon Springs PD)
  • Ofc. Hansmann & K9 Chato (Largo PD)

K-9 units are one of the most important branches of any police force as they aid officials significantly with search and rescue efforts, forensic evidence, bomb, and drug operations.
