Shawn Mendes Is Being Accused Of Ignoring Taylor Swift & Her Battle Against Scooter Braun

Just when the world thought the battle for Taylor Swift's music rights was put to rest, the drama has reentered the pop singers' life again and this time she's calling out for help. Her plea for other artists' support isn't exactly working in everyone's favor though. Taylor Swift and Scooter Braun drama have people sending hate on social media to Shawn Mendes.

Just last night Swift shared her newest dilemma with fans on her Instagram story. Fans were excited about the news that their favourite artist would be honoured with "Artist of the Decade" award at the American Music Awards, however, the "Lover" singer had a downside to the achievement.

Because of her recent battle with music rights for her first albums, Scooter Braun and Scott Borchetta are not allowing her to perform songs that were on her older albums because her record label unknowingly sold them to the music manager.

She titled the tweet version of her reveal "Don't know what else to do."

She started off by explaining her predicament and confessing that this "isn't the way I planned on telling you this news." A Netflix documentary involving Taylor Swift is apparently in the works, but she's run into problems because none of her music will be able to be featured in the movie.

There are however rules set down by Braun and Borchettathat if she follows, will allow her older music to still be featured. One of those rules includes Swift "not recording copy-cat versions" of her already existing music.

She goes on to explain that her only option now is to call on everyone else to raise awareness and basically call out what Scooter Braun is doing, “please let Scott and Scooter know how you feel about this...talk some sense into these men exercising tyrannical control over someone who just wants to play the music she wrote.”

While celebs like Jameela Jamil, Camila Cabello , Selena Gomez, and Gigi Hadid have all responded, fans are looking to Shawn Mendes for a response.

Knowing how much of an influence the Canadian singer has in the community, his words can really impact how people feel about the matter, but all he's given on the situation is radio silence.

What's upsetting fans more is the fact that the singer has taken time in the last 24 hours to not only promote his girlfriend, Camila Cabello's newest album but also to announce his collab with Taylor Swift.

If he can take the time to announce the collab and has experience working closely with Taylor Swift, why isn't he taking time out of his day to announce his support? That's what fans are wondering.

One fan on Twitter complained, "So Shawn Mendes can publicly support his girlfriend but not support Taylor, one of his truest friends who helped build his career into the performer he is today..hmmm that sum bullshit to me."

Someone even accused Mendes of hopping "on to one of Taylor's most beautiful songs. she let you open her tour for her. and you keep talking about her but when she needs you, you are quiet. make it make sense. "

Others aren't even bitter, they just want some type of response, "boooooo hey shawn @shawnMendes say something about what's happening with taylor!!"
