There have even been some seriously yummy vegetarian-friendly dishes, like veggie burgers making their way onto the scene, and it's been satisfying both vegetarians and meat eaters. The most buzzed about is definitely the Beyond Meat Burger that was recently added to A&W's menu across Canada.

The hype for the Beyond Meat Burger at A&W has been seriously real. The veggie burgers even sold out for a while, but are now back permanently on the menu. Canadians have been absolutely loving the Beyond Meat Burger and it has received rave reviews. The 100 percent plant-based burger is made from beets, coconut oil, yellow peas, rice and more ingredients. 

A&W has really stepped up their veggie burger game and delivered not just one, but two burgers. Aside from the Beyond Meat Burger, you can also try the Veggie Deluxe Burger. This seasoned vegetarian patty is made from a mix of vegetables and portobello mushrooms and is topped with real mozzarella cheese, pickles, sliced onion, lettuce and tomato. You can get both veggie burgers lettuce wrapped instead of with a bun.

Chipotle Mexican Grill

Vegetarian option: Sofritas Burrito, Sofritas Bowl, Sofritas Tacos

If you love burritos, tacos and burrito bowls but are vegetarian, no fear because the much-loved chain, Chipotle has an option for you. You can add Sofritas to your burritos or tacos, which is a vegan option. Sofritas is organic shredded tofu that is braised with chipotle chiles, roasted poblanos, and a blend of aromatic spices.

Vegetarians will be happy to hear that all the Chipotle ingredients are currently veggie friendly as well except for the meats, so you can fill up your burrito however you please. Vegans should stay away from the queso, cheese, vinaigrette and sour cream.

Vegetarian options: Grilled Veggie Burger and Side Garden Salad

Harvey's lists two fully vegetarian options on their website, the Grilled Veggie Burger and side Garden Salad. The Grilled Veggie Burger is their signature veggie burger and is made with various seasonings and spices. Just like their our burgers, the Grilled Veggie Burger is flame-grilled at 600˚F and served on a lightly toasted bun, but a multigrain bun option is also available. Many Canadians have praised this veggie burger for being super delicious. 

If you're looking for a vegetarian side to go with your veggie burger at Harvey's, the side Garden Salad is made with romaine and iceberg lettuce, tomato, cucumber, carrot, and cabbage.

Vegetarian options: Veggie Sandwich, Cheese Veggie Sandwich, Grilled Cheese, Fries

If you love Five Guys but are vegetarian, no fear because this popular burger chain has several veggie options! Their Veggie Sandwich is made with grilled onions, mushrooms, and green peppers, layered with lettuce and tomatoes, and served on a toasted bun. You can customize the ingredients in the sandwich. 

The Cheese Veggie Sandwich consists of a toasted golden bun made with lettuce, tomatoes, grilled onions, mushrooms, green peppers and topped with melted American-style cheese. You can add any or all 16 of Five Guy's toppings as well. The Grilled Cheese is made with Kraft American cheese melted on an inside-out Five Guys bun, and any toppings can be added. The fries at Five Guys are also vegetarian and vegan friendly, because they are cooked in pure, no-cholesterol, 100% peanut oil.

Vegetarian options: BK Veggie Burger

Burger King does has a veggie burger option among their many burger items. It's called the BK Veggie Burger and it is a flame-grilled soya burger that also comes with lettuce, tomatoes, slices of white onions and ketchup. The burger is served on a toasted sesame seed bun. The burger is not vegan though and does contain soy, egg, milk and wheat. 

If you don't fancy a veggie burger, there are several salad options. The Garden Side Salad, BLT Garden Fresh Salad and Caesar Garden Fresh Salad are all vegetarian dishes at Burger King.

McDonald's has yet to come out with their own veggie burger, but if you're in a crunch and need some options at McDonald's here are a few vegetarian items on their menu. If you love chowing down on McD's fries, you'll be happy to know that their fries and hash browns are vegetarian and vegan-friendly. They are made without animal-sourced ingredients and cooked in 100% vegetable oil, in fryer separate from meat items.
