So, what if we were to tell you that you could go on a free treasure hunt for hand-blown glass treasures on one of the most gorgeous Washington islands? It's real and it's happening!
Stanwood and the Camano Island host The Great NW Glass Quest which attracts thousands of people to the area every year.
Every day between February 14 and 23, local businesses will hide three-inch plastic globes — colorful, floating marbles with swirling patterns around the island for visitors to find.

If you're one of the lucky people to unearth one, you can turn it in for a limited edition glass ball made by renowned glass artists Mark and Marcus Ellinger.
Since it kickstarts on Valentine's Day this year, you can expect stunning creations with hearts on them too.
Although there's no definite point for you to begin your search, you can download this guide book for maps to clue locations. The hunt is half the fun and there are 440 of them to find this year.
This event was founded in 2009 and will take you on an adventure exploring everything from the isle's stunning beaches to the state parks.
Now in its eleventh year, the quest reminds us of the traditional Japanese glass floats that the tides would bring with it to coasts around the world. If finding them was one of your favorite pastimes, this could be your chance.
With the previous edition seeing over 10,000 participants, competition can be fierce.

But don't worry if you can't find them. You can always buy these one-of-a-kind creations for $65 each from select stores across town.
This year, you can also "check-in" before you begin your quest for a chance to win a glass ball in the lucky draw. They happen every day.
