Florida is one of the best states to witness the most majestic sunsets in. But, finding the right location to catch those last minutes of sunshine can be a challenge. Luckily, the boardwalk at Lake Ashby Park will let you enjoy the perfect sunset views at any time of the year.

This waterfront park features many outdoor recreational opportunities such as canoeing, fishing, walking, and even bird watching. The 71-acre park has a camping site, horse trails, volleyball court, fishing pier, grills and a pavilion with picnic tables, and a free public boat ramp.

If you're on a budget but want the perfect romantic spot for your date, this is the place. Admission is free and the park is open daily from sunrise to sunset.

The boardwalk makes it an easy pathway to enjoy nature and the canopy of live oaks. This is a great summer destination and a perfect photo shoot location if you are running out of ideas. The 1.5-mile loop trail starts on the park road and goes out over Lake Ashby. This will remind you of a Nicholas Sparks movie scene or maybe that scene from The Notebook.

If you want to spend the night and camp out, there is a $15 per night plus tax. You cannot camp out more than seven consecutive days or 30 total days per the calendar year. The majestic view also makes it a great spot for kayaking. If you are lucky enough, you might see a dolphin.

Lake Ashby Park is located at 4150 Boy Scout Camp Road, New Smyrna Beach.
