The Government Of Canada Just Announced How Much They Think The Average Price Of Weed Is And It's Comical
With July 1st coming soon, the Government of Canada has been pretty public about all of their studies surrounding the seemingly never-ending conversation about marijuana. Though our country definitely has a history for cringey handbooks about the drug, this new study they've released definitely takes the cake.
It all started when the Government of Canada decided to conduct a study on the average price of a gram of weed on the black market right now. Collecting information from approximately 15,000 Canadians across the country. It sounds like a pretty sound investigation, but the results were downright hilarious.
According to theGovernment of Canada, the average price for a gram right now is less than $7. Claiming that the most expensive it gets is in the Northwest Territories and Nunavut where they pay between $11.89 and $10.24. For Ontario, Alberta, Manitoba, Nova Scotia, British Columbia and Prince Edward Island, they claimed the typical price is between $6.97 and $7.27. The lowest price? Apparently, you can grab a gram for only $5.89 in Quebec (according to the government).
While the investigation was part of the government's plan to understand the drug's market better for when it finally gets legalized, many believe they got this one really wrong. Though, is that really a bad thing? If they think it's lower than it is, the mark up won't be as insane!
$7 a gram!! I have never, in 25 years, seen pot sold for $7 a gram.
In case you're curious. Ottawa is suggesting the price of legal cannabis will be $10 + tax. https://t.co/SP2grUsm6A
