8 "The Handmaid's Tale" Filming Locations In Ontario You Can Totally Visit

Praise be, our favourite Margaret Atwood series is coming back for another season. What better way to get excited for its return than by touring Gilead in real life? The Handmaid's Tale filming locations include destinations all over Ontario. You can even spend the night at a historic hotel used in the show.
The series first premiered in 2017 and production for its fourth season will soon be underway in Toronto. Star Elisabeth Moss has been in town prepping since mid-January.
You can look out for the show's cast and crew in the 6ix starting March 2. The City of Toronto says that filming won't wrap up until August 7.
Per IMDb, filming locations for the past three seasons have included Cambridge, Toronto, Oshawa, and Hamilton. The show also used the Cinespace Film Studios located at 777 Kipling Avenue in Etobicoke.
Besides season three, episode six, which was filmed in Washington, DC, the series is filmed in Canada.
There are other Canadian connections to the show as well. Star Amanda Brugel who plays Rita was born in Pointe-Claire, Quebec. Margaret Atwood, author of the original 1985 novel, is an Ottawa native.

Grand Durand
The Waterford House in the series is actually filmed at 105 Aberdeen Avenue in Hamilton. According to Movie Maps, the house was used in almost every episode of the first season.
St. Lawrence Market
The market located on Front and Lower Jarvis Streets was used in episode two of season three, per Toronto Life. During a scene where June goes undercover, she's seen walking with a group of Marthas. They're actually walking down the east side of the St. Lawrence Market.
Mill Race Park
The park located on 36 Water St. N. in Cambridge was used in three episodes of season one.
Park Lane Circle
Toronto Life claims that the Putnam residence featured in multiple seasons is located in the Bridle Path neighbourhood at 25 Park Lane Circle.
Coronation Park
The park that you can visit in Oakville was used as the Punishment Stage in episodes one and ten of the first season. Located on 1426 Lakeshore Rd. W., it features a waterfront trail, picnic tables, and a barbeque pit.
Cambridge City Hall
The city hall located on 50 Dickson St. in Cambridge was used as the courthouse in season one where Emily and the woman she was seeing were both tried for the affair, per Movie Maps.
Toronto City Hall
Production also took place at another familiar city hall located at 100 Queen St. W. in Toronto. It was used in episode four of season one. Movie Maps also claims that The Expanse used the new city hall in the first episode of season two.
Fairmont Royal York
The historic hotel in downtown Toronto has been used in quite a few film productions. It's used as the ballroom in episode six of season one and the secret sex club Jezebel's in episodes eight and nine. Other productions that have used the Fairmont include Orphan Black, The Expanse, and Serendipity.
