Elisabeth Moss Has Been In Toronto For Weeks Prepping For "The Handmaid's Tale" Filming

The Handmaid’s Tale season four has yet to begin filming, but in a recent interview, the show’s star Elisabeth Moss revealed that she’s been in Toronto since Mid-January to prepare for the upcoming months of work.
In an interview with Digital Spy, Moss said that the upcoming season is going to be bigger than the previous three, which is why production is taking a bit longer to kick off.
“Part of the reason why it's taken a little bit longer, besides just timing, is that we are making it a bit of a bigger season this year. We're really stretching the limits of our capabilities, production-wise, and we're on the move a lot.”
In earlier seasons, we saw Moss’ character June mostly confined to the state of Gilead while working as a Handmaiden.
In the finale of season three, June was able to smuggle a group of children (her own included) out of the country, so it seems that season four will show them travelling to new locations while trying to survive in the unfamiliar outside world.
According to Express, new seasons of The Handmaid’s Tale usually kick off in the spring or summer, but it’s seeming as though the start date for the newest episodes will be later in the year.
The city of Toronto’s website reports that filming for season four is set to begin on March 2 of this year, and will run until August 7.
“We're not sitting in a studio between four walls very much, so it really is a bigger season and that's taken a little [longer],” Moss told Digital Spy.
“I've been in Toronto since mid-January prepping," the 37-year-old actress continued.
During downtime from filming The Handmaid’s Tale, Moss has been busy working on projects like The Invisible Man, The French Dispatch, and Next Goal Wins, according to her IMDb.
