When the holiday season comes around, everyone has their own unique way of celebrating and getting ready for Christmas. Some people like to escape the cold weather and head off to beautiful, tropical destinations, while others prefer to stay at home with their family and watch holiday movies by the Christmas tree. If you fall into the latter category, we've got great news for you - The Knight Before Christmas on Netflix Canada will get you in the holiday spirit.

Back in October, Netflix announced that they had an abundance of holiday content coming out this November and if that's not enough to get you excited, one of the movies on the list was filmed in Toronto, AND directed by a Canadian.

The movie is called The Knight Before Christmas and stars Vanessa Hudgens as Brooke, a science teacher from Ohio who unexpectedly befriends a medieval knight named Sir Cole (played by Josh Whitehouse) after accidentally hitting him with her car.

Brooke quickly realizes that Sir Cole definitely isn't normal, and decides to take him under her wing while he navigates this new and unfamiliar world. Although she's been hurt by love in the past, Brooke feels herself falling for Sir Cole, and he can't help but feel the same.

Overall, the plot of the movie sounds a lot like the Christmas classic Elf, but of course, Hudgens brings some of her romance magic to the story, making it the perfect sappy holiday tale.

Much of The Knight Before Christmas was actually filmed in Muskoka, which is a favourite vacation spot for many celebs, but other parts of Ontario were used as well.

The film was also directed by the Vancouver-born Monika Mitchell, which gives it an extra bit of Canadian eh-xcellence.

The Knight Before Christmas hits Netflix on November 21, but in the meantime, you can check out the trailer below.
