"The Mighty Ducks" Disney+ Reboot Begins Filming In Vancouver Today (PHOTOS)

Just a few months ago, The Mighty Ducks Disney+ reboot was announced and fans of the movie franchise were beyond excited. Filming for the series began today, meaning that plenty of celebs will be taking over Vancouver for the next few months.
According to What’s Filming, production on the series was set to begin on February 18. Recently, Emilio Estevez confirmed that he would be returning in his role as Coach Gordon Bombay.
“Once a Duck, always a Duck. I am thrilled to return to my old stomping grounds with my friends at Disney and Steve Brill, the original creator of the franchise," Estevez said in a statement to CTV.
According to IMDb, others cast in the Disney+ series include Lauren Graham (Gilmore Girls), Brady Noon (Good Boys), Swayam Bhatia (Succession), Taegan Burns (I Can Only Imagine), Julee Cerda (Passengers), and Keifer O’Reilly (October Kiss), among others.
CTV reports that Graham will play the role of a mother whose son was cut from the Ducks team. She then sets out to build a team of her own that will take down the “ultra-competitive powerhouse hockey team.”
Earlier this month, the Disney+ Twitter account shared a photo of Estevez hitting the ice with some of his young co-stars.
“NO. CHILL. #EmilioEstevez is BACK as Gordon Bombay! Check out this photo from production on The Mighty Ducks, an Original Series coming soon to #DisneyPlus,” the tweet reads.
Although it’s been years since he coached the Ducks, Estevez looks as comfortable as ever on the ice, playing the role of coach.

Also filming in Vancouver this month is an untitled Netflix project starring Sandra Bullock. The Bird Box actress has been spotted on set around the city quite often lately, playing the role of a convict being reintegrated into society.
It’s unclear when The Mighty Ducks reboot will be hitting Disney+, although What’s Filming reports that production on the series will wrap up on June 11.
