The fair only gets better as we age. The rides we thought were terrifying as kids are actually fun as adults, and there's nobody to tell us that we can't have a funnel cake and a turkey leg and cotton candy. The North Georgia State Fair is back again this September, and it makes for the most adorable night out.

From Sept. 19 to 29,The North Georgia State Fair will take over Jim R. Miller Park in Marietta. Whether you like to sit back and be entertained by the dozens of shows or take part in the action with all the fair games, there's something for everyone.

Come on an empty stomach, because this fair is known for dishing out the greasiest, finger-licking comfort food in the South. They've got sugary doughy elephant ears, funnel cakes, deep-fried Oreos and Kool-Aid, foot-long corn dogs and the ever-so Instagrammable spiral potato on a stick. It might be worth it to come here just to eat.

Of course there are activites just for the kids, but there are also rollercoasters and pendulum rides that aren't for the faint of heart. If you're looking for a more relaxed adult night, the Ferris wheel and swings will take you way in the air. You'll easily have the best views of the entire park. Having an aerial view of everything lit up at night is a sight to see.

Our favorite days and nights out tend to be the ones where we're saving money, and the North Georgia State Fair has a multitude of days to save. There are daily specials, so mark your calendar for what we think are the greatest bang for your buck days:
