Other Ontario universities are implementing the same rules.
Ryerson University is now requiring all students living in residence during its 2021-2022 school year to get a COVID-19 vaccine.
According to the university, the requirement, which is supported by public health authorities, will help the school provide a "safe residence experience" for incoming students during the pandemic.
"This requirement is specific to students in residence because of the nature of communal living, the high volume of cases and incidence rates among young populations, and to foster a welcoming and engaging community for students on our campus," a spokesperson for Ryerson told Narcity.
All students living on-campus will be required to get at their first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine at least 14 days before their move-in date.

When you think of a concrete jungle like Toronto, you may not associate it with nature – but maybe you should. Toronto was just ranked Canada's second-best city to enjoy nature in a recent study by The Body Shop.
The study analyzed the amount of natural green areas, community gardens, dog parks, walking trails and air quality across twenty cities in Canada.
According to the study, Toronto has the most walking trails, with all 75 trails equaling 496 kilometres. On top of that, the city also comes in third for the highest number of dog parks.
The 6ix was only beaten out by one other city, Ottawa. Other green spaces like Vancouver were placed lower down on the list.
