Netflix's New Thriller Comes From The Creator Of 'The Stranger' & It's Even More Haunting

The show is coming from the country of Poland and is based on the novel of the same name by Harlen Coban. The story follows Paweł Kopiński, a prosecutor whose young sister went missing in the woods 25 years earlier.
Pawel is still struggling with the loss all these years later, but he finds himself having hope that she could still be alive when the body of a young boy who had also vanished is suddenly discovered.
As the series goes on, family secrets will begin to spill out, causing Pawel to question everything as his life is ripped apart in front of his own eyes.
The Woods stars Grzegorz Damiecki (Taxing Love), Agnieszka Grochowska (In Darkness), Adam Wietrzynski (Pilsudski), and Jacek Koman (Children of Men), among others.

The new original series is the second project to come to Netflix from the work of Coban this year. In late January, the streamer released The Stranger, a series about a family whose lives are unexpectedly torn apart by a young stranger who begins unveiling their darkest hidden secrets.
The series received an impressive certified fresh critic score of 83% on Rotten Tomatoes, although an audience rating is currently unavailable.

Crime dramas have been an incredibly popular genre for Netflix this year. Over the past few months, the streamer has released The Last Thing He Wanted, Lost Girls, Dare Me, and Dangerous Lies, among others.
