There's Serious Drama Between The Ottawa Senators Hockey Wives And Law Enforcement Has Had To Step In

In March of this year, Ottawa Senators captainErik Karlsson and his wife Melinda’s first child Axel passed away after being stillborn.

The couple received a massive outpouring of support online from fans not just from their team, but around the NHL.

But it seems that the fiancé of another team member (Erik Karlsson’s) has been harassing the couple after their loss.

In a court filing Melinda Karlsson say that Monika Caryk, who is dating Karlsson’s teammate Mike Hoffman, had been harassing the couple from November 17 of 2017 to May 4 of this year.

“Monika Caryk has uttered numerous statements wishing my unborn child dead,” the court documents say.

She also alleges that Caryk “also uttered that she wished I was dead and that someone should ‘take out’ my husband’s legs to ‘end his career,” as well as that Caryk “posted over 1,000 negative and derogatory statements about me as a professional.”

It appears that one example of this was on a post where the couple announced the death of their child. In a heartbreaking Instagram post from Erik Karlsson showing Axel’s footprints one commenter wrote: “I feel bad for the baby he didn’t have a chance with Melinda popping pain killer medication everyday.”

Just seven minutes later Karlsson replied saying “How dare you. You have been making fake accounts and buying hacked ones for months to harass me and my wife but this is an all new low even for you. You are a disgusting person.”

The comment has since been deleted, along with the account it was posted by. Karlsson’s teammate Hoffman denies that his fiancé did anything the Karlssons are alleging.

There is an active police investigation into the matter, none of the allegations have been proven in court.
