This Washington “Temple” Literally Has A Maze Of Secret Bars Inside It

Can you find them all?
These Hidden Bars In Tacoma Washington Are Serious Drinking Goals

There's something about a secret bar that all of us love to "find." While Seattle has plenty of these Prohibition-era gems scattered through its streets, we've found a maze of hidden bars in Tacoma, Washington that's got us planning our weekend.

The McMenamins Elks Temple was originally built in 1916 but opened its renovated doors earlier this year. And the historic structure in Renaissance style is serious Insta goals.

Although it's home to five bars — all of a different character, what piqued our interest is this secret speakeasy.

Hidden under one of the many staircases, you'll have to pull a Harry Potter and push through one of the walls to get there.

It'll be quite a treasure hunt too because none of the staff will tell you where it is! Called The Vault, it's tiny and can seat about 20 people at a time.

The dimly-lit room has $12 whiskey-based concoctions. Though there's no food here, you're welcome to order from any of the other eateries in this spot.

You can literally go bar-hopping within the walls of this place.

Somewhere in the basement, there's a Brewery Tasting Room and Bottle Shop with hundreds of bottled beers and 16 taps.

There's also an English-style pub called the McMenamins Pub inside the seven-floor establishment.

If you pale to ale like us, there's a cool tiki lounge called the Old Hangout which serves over 18 fruity, tropical cocktails. The drinks are mixed by an actual indoor waterfall and there's even thunder and lightning indoors. Go figure!

The masks, pineapple sambal burgers, and a year-round firepit will get you thinking about your next summer vacay in Hawaii.

If you'd rather be in the streets of Spain, you can just head over to an actual ballroom with live music on the second floor.

The polished interiors with glass will have you feeling classy. Called the Spanish Bar, you can tuck into plates of tapas like patata bravas and carafes of Sangrias.

We all like no-fuss hangouts sometimes. So, if you just want to chill with pinball games, shuffleboards or challenge your BFF to a game of pool over drinks, you should head over to the Doc's Bar next door.

If you can't get enough of this place, you can opt to stay for a price that starts at $129 a night too.

Honestly, each room comes with its own experience all wrapped up with a dose of history. Did we mention all the photo ops that'll have your Insta buzzing for days?

Make sure you pick your best outfit and come thirsty. — For the drinks and photos, both.
