Before radio and wi-fi, there was knitting and manual labor that nowadays seems a little out of date. If you're looking for things to do in Florida this fall, Pioneer Days Festival brings back the 1800s, to demonstrate a slice of Old Florida and early settlement.

This festival will be transformed into a Pioneer Village where you can engage in historical demonstrations, enjoy live entertainment, heritage art, craft vendors, family activities and more.

The City of Lake Wales will be hosting the 44th annual festival with historic architecture tours and other education heritage activities. If you are a history buff or simply enjoy unique locations, this festival will definitely broaden your expectations.

The festival will feature canoe carving, Florida Cabin Fever Quilters, Polk County Woodturners, SWEAT – Early American Trades, a civil war camp with reenactors, Florida Citrus Hall of Fame with Miss Florida Citrus and citrus labels, Talako Indian Dancers, Lake Aurora Archery, Polk County Fiber Guild, a 1861 Cracker Chuck Wagon & Pioneer Camp, antique car show and more.

There will be a parade at 12 p.m. on Saturday, October 26th and you can also take advantage of snapping some pictures with Flywheelers antique tractor and engine exhibits.

This is a fall festival worth adding to your bucket list. Besides pioneer-related activities you can enjoy a pumpkin patch and delicious American food.

The Pioneer Days Festival will take place on October 26th and October 27th from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission to the festival is completely free. So, get ready to party like the old times.
