Visiting North Carolina is a must at least one time in your life because it is too beautiful not to experience. One side of the state has gorgeous beaches and the other has mountains galore. One of the best things to do in North Carolina is taking a ride on this alpine coaster.

Wilderness Run is Banner Elk, North Carolina's freshest attraction and has all the hype around it. This attraction is right next to the Sugar Mountain Ski Resort, so you'll have some pretty cool views as you zip down the mountain.

Even if you are not a major fan of rollercoasters, you can still enjoy this unique attraction, too. The rider has all the control over how fast or how slow you want your cart to go so everyone can enjoy it, no matter your preference.

The cart will take you all the way up the mountain where you'll begin your adventurous journey.

Unlike a regular coaster that rides on a track with a pulley system, these alpine coasters only use gravity to pull you down the mountain and around twists and turns, hence why you can control the speed yourself.

The entire track weaves in and out of trees and is even steep in some spots to really make your adrenaline pump. This is the only alpine coaster in the entire state, so make sure you find a time to experience it.

Along with the coaster, there is also a three-story clubhouse-type area where you can go after your ride to relax or you can view the coaster from afar if you're not ready to take the plunge just yet.

If you're a fan of this thrill, there are about 30 others in the U.S. that you can experience, including this one in Georgia and another in Pennsylvania.
