The warm weather is slowly creeping up on us and for some, the of tropical places we would rather be. Our wallets might not allow us to travel to these beautiful, below the equator locations, but lucky for us, there are some spots right here in Tennessee that will make up for it. One of the coolest things to do in Tennessee is visiting this aquarium that not only has unique fish, but a butterfly area too.

The Tennessee Aquarium is located in Chattanooga, Tennesee which is a popular tourist destination, so this place is in the right spot. It has ginormous exhibits but also has an amazing butterfly garden.

You'll be able to see hundreds of butterflies ranging from Monarchs to Glass Wings. You'll really feel like you are in a tropical paradise.

Even though the environment is inside, the ambiance is set to make you feel like you are outside. You'll spot many exotic flowers and a waterfall that might make you want to take a picture in front of. There are also various bird sounds throughout the building that adds to the experience.

The butterflies primarily come from Central and South America. These farmers raise these butterflies specifically for different aquariums and zoos all over the world. This is a way for these farmers to make an income, as well as conserve the the flying caterpillars.

When the butterflies are ready to leave the aquarium and thrive in the wild, the aquarium will release them. This happens daily, so it's best to call the aquarium to see what time this will happen when you visit.

As soon as you walk in, you'll be greeted by hundreds of butterflies. If you're not a fan of flying bugs landing on you, this is not the place for you.

There will be many butterflies that'll hang out on your finger or your shoulder and you might need to snap a few pics when this happens.

Tickets for adults are $34.95. Your ticket grants you access to the entire aquarium and the butterfly garden. If you are looking for a different experience, this is for you.
