Once the cold weather arrives, many of us tend to stay indoors. While it is nice to watch Netflix and sip hot chocolate under a blanket, there is so much more to do. One of the best parts of the season is enjoying the crisp air and seeing the trees covered in soft fluffy snow. So it is time to put on your warmest jacket and go on an adventure. We found the perfect spot for you to visit. There is a magical 12-kilometre boardwalk trail in B.C. that will take you to 18 bridges and a snowy canyon.

Just imagine walking on a boardwalk trail over a vast canyon where you can see nothing but soft fluffy snow. Doesn't that sound pretty amazing?

Just 30 minutes south of Kelowna, you can find the Myra Canyon Trestles in Myra-Bellevue Provincial Park. Here, you can enjoy a relaxing day away from the city.

The trail is 12 kilometres each way and takes you over a restored section of the Kettle Valley Railway.

In the winter, it is a fun journey that is perfect for snowshoeing as it is wide and flat the entire way. You don't have to be an experienced hiker or outdoorsy person to enjoy the trail.

Following the trail, you'll enjoy spectacular views of the canyon and around KelownaOn the path, there are several lookout points where you can take extraordinary photos of the snowy wilderness.

If you go the entire route, you'll walk over 18 impressive trestle bridges, and through two tunnels.

Animal-lovers will also want to keep on the lookout as you might be able to spot white-tailed deer or moose.

Before you depart, it is a good idea to check the Myra-Bellevue Provincial Park website for updates and safety tips.

If you don't have snowshoes, they can easily be rented nearby from either Mountain Equipment Coop or Play it Again Sports.
