Summer in Vancouver is practically synonymous with Pride! There's so much more going on in the city other than just the iconic annual parade in August, although that's definitely a must-see! These 2019 free Vancouver Pride events have to be on your radar this summer.

The upcoming August long weekend is always the climax of pride celebrations in Vancouver, but there are a ton of ways to get involved and celebrate, both before and after the official Pride party. Here are six totally free things to do in Vancouver this year for Pride:

Public Disco At Pride Premiere

When: Friday, July 26 from 5 PM to 12 AM

Why you should go: Watch incredible drag performances, hear live music and sit in a sun-dappled beer garden in the heart of the city the weekend before the official start to Pride!

Why you should go: This North Vancouver pride celebration features drag performances and a giant dance party. Plus, the Slurpee truck will be there!

When: Sunday, August 4 from 12 PM to 3 PM

Why you should go: The quintessential pride event of the year. This massive celebration that wraps around the West End is a must-see for every Vancouverite.

When: Sunday, August 4 from 11 AM until late

Why you should go: A giant party at the end of the Pride Parade route, you can dance outside by the beach in full daylight! It will feel just like a club.
