Vancouver's favourite water park is opening soon for the summer season and you have to go there and try their insane boomerang-shaped tube slide! Water parks are a classic summertime staple and you should definitely put aside a weekend to soak up some sun and have fun rushing down waterslides and thrill-seeking.
You might remember this water park from when you were a kid and it used to be called simply Splash Down! If it's been a minute since you were last at the park, there are a ton of new things this year that you won't want to miss out on including adults-only hot tubs, Las Vegas-style cabana rentals, basketball courts, ping pong tables and weekly dance classes. You can honestly spend all day here and it's totally worth it.
This is the first full season that the massive Boomerango tube slide will be open. It's the only slide of its kind in Western Canada and it has famous cousins at Wet n Wild in Las Vegas and Atlantis The Palms in Dubai.
The titanic slide has a nearly vertical wall that you'll weightlessly rush up in your tube slide. Then, you'll experience a vertical drop that's six-stories high and slide back down. This is going to really freak out anyone with a fear of heights and it's guaranteed to leave you breathless.
Big Splash Water Park will be opening for the season to the public on Saturday, June 29th and general admission is $30 plus tax for an all-day pass. They're open from 10:30 AM to 7 PM. You can also book spaces for a party or rent out a private cabana, tent, picnic and patio tables.
